Governor Cuomo reviews Quad-C plans
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo reviewed plans for the Computer Chip Commercialization Center (Quad-C) during a campus visit November 28. In conjunction with his statewide Regional Economic Development Council Progress Tour, the Governor met with SUNYIT President Wolf Yeigh and Alain E. Kaloyeros, Senior Vice President and CEO of UAlbany’s College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering (CNSE).
The Governor was briefed on the construction timeline and scope of the project and viewed the construction site near Kunsela Hall after greeting elected officials and representatives of nfrastructure and Valutek--the Quad-C's announced tenants--and others involved in the project.
The Quad-C will bring leading researchers and industry partners in nanotechnology onto the SUNYIT campus. The building complex will be centered around a state-of-the-art clean room for nanotechnology research. The remainder of the building will house office, research, collaboration and support facilities for a myriad of corporate and research partners.
President Yeigh participated in the Governor's REDC Progress Tour, which began at Griffiss Business and Technology Park, and then took part in the Mohawk Valley REDC's formal meeting and progress review in the SUNYIT Student Center.
