More than Half of U.S. Public Opposes Mosque Near Ground Zero

There have been plans to develop and construct an Islamic mosque very close to the Ground Zero site in New York City.  Many people strongly oppose this project, especially those who are from New York and by the families affected by the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.   People for the mosque believe that it would be a sign of integration and tolerance of differences between cultures.  Supporters also believe it will promote the peaceful aspect of the Islam religion and in turn "honor" the victims of the terrorist attacks. The majority of people however disagree with the supporters views and opinions.  They, as well do I, feel it would be disrespectful to the victims of the 9/11 attacks and the responders who have died and those who have become terminally ill.  If anyones view is indifferent, I suggest they watch the documentary that aired on the tenth anniversary of the attacks, and then ask themselves if the mosque should be built just two blocks away from the site of those viscous attacks.
