Dr. Russell L. Kahn guest workshop at the SUNY New Paltz teaching and learning center on teaching using technology

Professor Kahn was invited to SUNY New Paltz on Nov. 4, 2011 to present on "Best Practices for use of technology in learning: Applying instructional design theory to in-the-cloud applications

Dr. Kahn discussed how to use freely available "in the cloud" applications to promote higher-level thinking skills.  Dr. Kahn, who teaches instructional design in the IDT program at SUNYIT looked at the educational potential of new interactive new media tools, such as Prezi, a free, non-linear, collaborative presentation tool.  Other tools discussed include word clouds, pod casting tools, news compilers, wikis, and real time encyclopedias.  Attendees learned how to use these tools for improving student-centered learning online or on campus.  His Prezi presentation is available at
