The Technology Accreditation Commission (TAC) of ABET, Inc., formerly the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, has formally notified SUNYIT that its programs in the engineering technologies have been reaccredited. The reaccreditation is for SUNYIT’s bachelor of science degree programs in civil engineering technology, computer engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, and mechanical engineering technology.

"We are pleased with the outcome of this peer review of our programs in the engineering technologies," said SUNYIT President Wolf Yeigh. ABET, Inc., describes accreditation as "a non-governmental, peer-review process that assures the quality of the postsecondary education students receive. Educational institutions or programs volunteer to undergo this review periodically to determine if certain criteria are being met."
