Powerful Tech Blogger Says He’ll Invest in Companies He Covers
The editor of an influential technology blog says that he has invested in companies which he will cover in the blog. He claims that he will disclose this information when he writes. He previously had stopped investing because of conflict-of-interstests but his company was sold to AOL. They state:
“Michael Arrington operates from a unique position. He was an investor in technology companies and start-ups before he started TechCrunch, and his extensive knowledge of, and involvement with Silicon Valley is one of the very things that has made TechCrunch a must-read site.”
He says he will continue to be critical of these companies.
I don't agree with this. He should not be able to influence investors for his own financial gain.
