The Right to be Forgotten

This article is discussing a controversial topic, freedom of speech verses privacy. Google is a very powerful search engine, it can and will find anything about anyone. This is where the problem comes in; people’s private information that is on the internet is being accessed by virtually anyone with a computer and an internet connection. Old outdated data, irrelevant facts and embarrassing photos are being unearthed by the powerful search engine that is Google. People are now suing Google to have these links to such information removed from the Google search results.

This is very controversial and I’m not sure of my opinion on the matter. On the one hand I agree that people have the right to keep some information private. However on the other hand there can be some information that the public should be aware of. I would say it is an individual’s responsibility to keep their private information private, not Google’s.
