Tacoma Selects Echologics for Leak Detection
Alex Shorter reports that the city of Tacoma, GA has decided to inspect their pipes condition and inspect for leaks. The project will require a condition assessment of around 20 miles of pipes in the city's water system. The project was awarded to Echologics, LCC, which is the leader in water infrastructure diagnostic technologies. The method of inspection is non-invasive as it uses acoustic-based leak detection system, and a database to assess the structural condition of the city's pipes. Some of that technology was developed jointly with the National Research Council of Canada. Substantial savings are forecasted by using acoustic technology.
