Health hazard in Karnataka
It is sad to know that there are certain people around the world that seems not to value their natural water systems. Unfortunately, such a case exists in Karnataka, India; where residents do not see a problem with allowing their wastewater and sewage drain into the Tungabhadra reservoir.
However, what is most saddening is the way in which the City Corporation, Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Sewage Board and the Irrigation Department have turned a blind eye to the violations carried out by these residents.
Nonetheless, pressure from the news reporting of such conditions have encouraged the facilitation of a wet well for these residents; where they are now being encouraged to drain their waste appropriately. These wet wells will then safely pump the sewage to the main underground sewage lines.
