A Waste Water Treatment Plant In New Hampshire Paving The Way

The Following article is found in its full format here :

With the nation facing tough economic times and government spending running out of control local municipalities and water treatment plants have to look for ways to save money. At the same time they have to be able to satisfy the demands of a growing population. One plant in New Hampshire is the first in the nation that is applying new technology to its plant, saving them more than a million dollars. They had a need for additional aeration tanks and no money in their budget to build the expensive tanks. So the engineers at the plant applied a new screen technology that could be used on their existing aeration tanks. The screens allowed for the aeration tanks to have more area for bacteria to live and multiply. Bacteria are essential in process of breaking down waste, and with more bacteria in the tank the aeration system is now working much more efficiently.
