The U.K waste water treatment plant generating electricity from biogas
The following is a summary and comment on the article available here http://www.iwapublishing.com/template.cfm?name=w21prodnews150211h
The United Kingdom is in the process of constructing one of their largest waste water treatment plants, the plant will be capable of producing electricity from the biogas. It is a new process that they are applying to the plant and the whole construction process is being recorded and watched to see if they are successful. The electricity that the plant produces will be exported from the site and used as a renewable energy source by National Grid. The plant will also serve its purpose in being able to treat water as well as create sustainable soil. This project could be a giant leap in the way plants are designed and function in the future.
