On Feb 28th of 2011 the perfect storm, the combination of melting snow, heavy rains and saturated soil, overan the clevland waste water treatment plant. Officials warned everyone in the effected area were to limit there use of water. The plant could not handle the volume of the storm and it is estimated that 160 - 180 million gallons per day of untreated water had been released back into the local area. The EPA estimates the damages to total over 1 billions dollars. Again another reminder why technology and waste water plants need to be updated and checked.
