Alumni & Friends Reception: Register online by Sept. 6 for Sept. 11 event
All SUNYIT alumni, as well as VIPs and friends of this fall's alumni honoree, are invited to register to attend the SUNYIT Alumni & Friends Reception on September 11, 2010.
Join coaches and special honoree Donald Dutcher ’92 (see bio below) for updates on the new Field House and other projects!
Sat. Sept. 11, 2010: 3:30 to 5 p.m.
in the tent next to SUNYIT’s Soccer Field
The reception will follow the 2 p.m. Alumni Coed Soccer Game
and the noon contest between the Women Wildcats and St. Elizabeth
During the reception, former Wildcat soccer player Donald Dutcher ’92 (see bio below) will be honored by the Alumni Association with the Alumni Distinguished Service Award. Reception space is limited; register online by September 6, 2010 – Click here for the online registration form.

Donald Dutcher ’92: Distinguished Service Award
Donald Dutcher ’92, a SUNYIT Wildcats Hall of Fame inductee as a student-athlete, will now have his professional career recognized by SUNYIT’s Alumni Association for his achievements as a higher education administrator leading a program where students excel on the fields and in the classrooms. Dutcher will receive the Alumni Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes extraordinary service to profession, community, and/or alma mater, at the SUNYIT Alumni & Friends Reception on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

Dutcher has distinguished himself as Director of Athletics at Herkimer County Community College, where the athletics program has emerged as one of the top junior college athletic programs in the country since his arrival there in 2004. Overseeing all HCCC athletics operations and 19 athletic programs, Dutcher is committed to providing students a quality athletic experience as an integral and valued component of their total educational experience. Under Dutcher’s leadership, HCCC’s student-athletes have continued to excel in the classroom, earning seven NJCAA Academic Team of the Year awards and numerous Academic All-Region awards.
Dutcher is involved locally with youth soccer. Additionally, for the 2009-10 academic year, Dutcher has helped HCCC athletes give back to the community through an Adopt-a-School program that he created, linking HCCC varsity teams to students in area school systems.
Prior to joining HCCC, Dutcher’s honors included being named Mohawk Valley Coach of the Year in 2004 for leading Poland Central’s basketball team to the State Final Four and being inducted in 2003 into the SUNYIT Wildcats Hall of Fame in as a standout soccer player.
