Faculty & Staff bus trip to NYC Saturday, November 19

The Office of Human Resources has secured two buses to New York City on Saturday, November 19. We will leave SUNYIT at 6 a.m. and return at midnight. Entertainment while in NYC will be of your own choosing.

Through our special events fund, we are able to underwrite a portion of the tickets.Seats will be sold at the following rates for this trip: SUNYIT employees & retirees (Includes State, College Association & Research Foundation) $25 per person; friends & family, $35 per person. Full payment is required by Friday, October 21. Buses will be filled on a first come, first served basis and full payment is required to reserve a seat.

To make your reservation, please stop by Human Resources - Kunsela Hall A011. Make checks payable to: The College Association. Human Resources will maintain a waiting list in the event both buses sell out. There will be no refund after Friday, October 28.

Flex Spending open enrollment

The Flex Spending Account is a free and easy-to-use State employee benefit that saves you money by allowing you to pay for certain expenses with pre-tax dollars. Under this program, you can choose either the Health Care Spending Account (HCSAccount) which allows you to set aside any amount from $100 up to $4,000 annually to pay for health care expenses that are not reimbursed by your health insurance or other benefit plan, or the Dependent Care Advantage Account (DCAAccount) which allows you to set aside up to $5,000 in pre-tax salary for eligible child care, elder care, or disabled dependent care expenses that are necessary for you and your spouse, if you are married, to work. 

The 2012 Open Enrollment Period for a Flex Spending Account is October 14, 2011 through November 14, 2011. Participants who are currently enrolled must re-enroll if they wish to continue their benefits in 2012 and they will receive re-enrollment instructions directly from Fringe Benefits Management Company, the Plan Administrator for the Flex Spending Account.  If you wish to take advantage of this benefit, you must register online at www.flexspend.state.ny.us or by calling the FSA Hotline, 1-800-358-7202. 

Please be advised the deadline for 2012 enrollment is November 14, 2011, and is strictly enforced.

Baby Bonding Program

Human Resources is proud to announce a new Baby Bonding Program. This program is intended to promote bonding opportunities and make life a little easier for parent(s) with newborns. The program will offer up to $100 towards expenses such as cleaning services, ordering takeout food to include prepared meals from the supermarket, diaper service, etc.

Human Resources will notify the employee, after having formal notification of a birth or adoption, that he or she is eligible to participate in the Baby Bonding Program.  The employee may be reimbursed for receipted bills that are in line with the aforementioned purpose by submitting a claim to the Human Resources Office.

BJ's Membership

We are pleased to announce a special membership offer to BJ's Wholesale Club for our employees – the Inner Circle Membership.  This will replace our previous BJ’s Membership program.  Applications are available in Human Resources for new or renewing BJ’s memberships.

The special offer includes a $10 savings off the $50 annual membership, a free second card for a household member and three free months.  The cost of the 15-month membership, for two-household cards, will be $43.50.  You must complete the form and mail payment to our representative (pre-addressed envelope will be provided).  This special offer is not available at any BJ's Wholesale Club location.

Inner Circle Membership Renewals will have 15 months added on to their current expiration date.
