This great article shared the story of a city going green.  They recently installed a solar array to provide some of the power for the local wastewater treatment plant.  In the first year, the array is expected to generate enough power for 43 homes for a year; it is anticipated to power closer to 800 homes over the course of 20 years.

Even better, this was completed with no up-front cost to taxpayers!  It's a wonderful and promising example of green design at work.
