Desalination Part II: Nuclear Power

Desalination through conventional means such as reverse osmosis or evaporation is very energy intensive and thus it is often avoided at all costs. One method to powering such facilities has be a co-generational nuclear facilities. Russia, India and Japan all have used this system. The Russian plants also recycled spent full and powered a city in conjunction with salt water purification. This highly efficient system is used at 8 Japanese facilities and has an excellent safety record. Since no CO2 and nuclear fuels are recycled the system is rather clean as well.
