Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich Gets 14-Year Sentence for Corruption.
In the beginning of December the former governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich was given a 14 year jail sentence for corruption while holding a public office. One of his charges was trying to sell president Obama’s vacant senate seat, and lying to investigators. He did apologize before he got sentenced but he’s just sorry because he got caught! When you are a politician you should never take any bribes because it always comes back to haunt you. You are here to help the public not to make your wallet larger. Another thing that is surprising about this case is that he is allowed to keep his state pension. He should be required to give it up and forfeit any profits that he has gained from this! Another stupid thing is he is going to appeal this ruling, there should be no appeal you got caught now do your time! Somehow he will get away with it just like all the other politicians do.
