The truth about smoking

U.S. district judge Gladys Kessler made a ruling last week that would force tobacco companies to make five statements to the public. These statements are designed to counter the past lies the tobacco companies have told about the dangers of smoking. The companies will be required to spend their own money on a two year advertising campaign that will cover these five statements. One statement includes "Smoking kills, on average, 1200 Americans every day." The tobacco companies will most likely try to appeal the decision.
