Foundations of Fame (Kim Strom Gottfried) 10/29/12
The articale describes the fall from grace encountered by two major "stars" in the cycling and entertainment industry and how their fall from stardom can cause a negtive effect on the charities they started. Even though the basis of what a charity stood for may be skewed or altered, the reality is that both charities raised money for a casue. Whether a charity helped to fund a medical breakthrough or if it just put a meal on the table for starving children: people benefitted from the Livestrong and Haiti charities. Lives were saved, people were fed, and children were educated. Is the fall from grace of the founders really the most important aspect? Or is the fact that thousand of people's lives were postiviely effected by the charities.
