Media-Ethics Issues Debated In Wake Of Boston Marathon Bombings
Media-Ethics became a large issue this past week in the days since the Boston marathon bombings. The main issues were false information and reporting of topics that had never happened. Many of the news stations raced to find the information first, but in doing so gave false breaking news. This hurts not only the reputation of the news sources but also the people they are serving. The false news of an arrest gave closure that was not actually true. Also on social networking sites people were accusing the wrong people of the crime and reporting death totals that were not accurate. Moral ethics comes in play when these issues arise. It shows that you cannot always believe what you hear on the TV or internet. These sources must also strive to provide better work to its viewers.
