Women`s Bowling Finishes Third at Penn State Classic, Improve to 11-1 in Head-to-Head Competition

BELLEFONTE, PA – The SUNYIT women’s bowling team continued its strong season this past weekend, knocking down 7751 total pins to finish third out of seven teams at the Penn State Classic, which was held at Bellefonte Lanes in Bellefonte, PA this past Saturday and Sunday.  The Lady Wildcats also won both of their head-to-head matches against Medaille College, helping them improve to 11-1 on the year.

Junior Amanda Pratt (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) continued her impressive play, making her third-straight All-Tournament Team after finishing with a five-game total of 936, which included a high game of 245.  Junior Katie Freisatz (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) also had a strong outing with a five-game total of 886, while fellow classmate Kourtni Pratt (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) bowled an 827.  Senior Meaghan McGurn (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem) bowled a 765 and junior Tabatha Williams (Endwell, NY/Herkimer County CC) finished with a score of 596 to round out the Wildcats.

Briarcliffe College won the event by knocking down 8589 total pins, while Rochester Institute of Technology came in second with a score of 7643.  Rounding out the top five team finishes were Eerie Community College (7308) and Medaille (6963).

The Wildcats will next travel to Altoona, PA for the St. Francis Holiday Bowl on Saturday, December 4 and Sunday, December 5.  Start times have yet to be determined.
