Kevin Edick

Kevin Edick enters his 19th season as the head baseball coach at SUNYIT. Edick, who also serves as the assistant athletics director, has had a hand in multiple sports during his time on campus, as he has had stints as the head coach for men's soccer, women's basketball, softball, golf, bowling and intramurals. Edick has won nearly 200 games while leading the SUNYIT baseball program, which included a program-best 20-win season in 2001. This past season, his squad won the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) West Division Championship and broke numerous program single-season records, including hits, batting average, runs scored, RBI, triples, strikeouts, saves and walks drawn. During the 2009 season, Edick was named the NEAC Coach of the Year during the school’s first year in the conference. It was the third time Edick earned such an award during his coaching career, as he was also named the SUNYAC Coach of the Year during the 1997 season and earned that same honor while coaching women's basketball during the 1995-96 season. Edick has won over 160 games as the coach for the SUNYIT baseball program, which included a program-best 20-win season in 2001. During the 2008 season, his squad broke numerous SUNYIT season records, including runs scored, hits, doubles, RBI, bases on balls, stolen bases and team batting average. This past season, Edick was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Coach of the Year during the school's first year in the conference. It was the third time Edick earned such an award during his coaching career, as he was also named the SUNYAC Coach of the Year during the 1997 season and earned that same honor while coaching women's basketball during the 1995-96 season. Prior to his coaching career, Edick was a star baseball player at North Adams State College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. He then went on to receive a Master of Business Administration degree from Wagner College. Edick, an active outdoorsman, currently resides in Utica with his dog, Bear, and his cat, Cubby. |
