Americans Favor Limiting Sale of Unhealthy Food in Schools

A recent Gallup poll indicated that two thirds of Americans would vote in favor of a law to limit the sale of unhealthy food in schools.  The same poll also found that 57% of Americans would be in favor of extending such a law to food sold in vending machines, snack bars, and bake sales at schools as well.  The poll proves that most Americans believe that such a law would combat childhood obesity and lead to better grades.  For many American children, the school cafeteria is the only place they have an opportunity to get a nutritious meal.  Is it ethical to deny children the choice to eat junk food even if it would potentially benefit their health? Apparently two-thirds of Americans say yes, while one-third say "keep your government hands off my Cheetos!"
