Alumni Benefits
Alumni receive a number of benefits just for graduating from the college. However, by paying one or more fees, other services may be available to alumni as noted below.
Each alumnus of the college receives:
- Alumni communications, either The Bridge magazine (published electronically with a very limited print edition) or Alumni eNews via email. Note: To ensure receipt of communications, e-mail alumni@sunyit.edu or submit to provide updated email and contact information to the Alumni Office.
- Standing invitations to alumni events (posted to Upcoming Events and sent via email).
- Offers for group-discount rates providing savings or extra value as they become available.
- Access to the official SUNYIT Alumni Association page on Facebook.
- Access to the official SUNYIT Alumni Association group on LinkedIn with over 900 members who have all experienced SUNYIT as a student.
- Free access to CCN, an online job-board and resume-database system with career-related reference materials, including a video library, sponsored by Career Services.
- Admittance to SUNYIT’s annual Career Fair and, occasionally, to other select events sponsored by Career Services.
- Services provided by Career Services staff such as Credential File, cover-letter and resume Consulting Sessions, and Individual Career Counseling regarding such issues as self-assessment and career decision-making. (Note: Some services are free and some are fee-paid; contact Career Services for details.)
Alumni may opt to pay additional fees to receive additional services, as such services become or remain available, and can do so by taking the following actions.
Step 1: Pay a voluntary alumni fee: $25 Annual (12 months) or $65 Triennial (36 months) or $325 Lifetime, or participate in the student-payment plan effective fall 2007, as follows.
- To pay the fee as an alumnus, complete the Alumni Association Payment Form (pdf) and mail/fax it with payment.
- As of fall 2007, students have the option to pay a per-semester alumni fee in lieu of alumni fees after graduation, which qualifies them to receive additional benefits, as outlined below, immediately upon becoming alumni.
Step 2: Upon processing of payment and alumni status, become eligible to receive additional benefits, which are subject to change or cancellation at any time and include the following as of spring 2010:
Note: All free and/or fee-paid benefits are subject to change or cancellation at any time; payment of the voluntary alumni fee and/or other fees does not imply that benefits presently available will continue to be made available in the future.
