Alumni Award Nominations
The SUNY Institute of Technology Alumni Association/Alumni Office periodically recognizes the outstanding achievement of SUNYIT's most distinguished graduates through the Alumni Awards Program. These awards pay tribute to those persons who best exemplify their alma mater's high standards of excellence and service. Please submit nominations to assist the awards committee in identifying individuals who qualify for the awards listed below.
NOTE: Before nominating someone please check to see if they are listed among past recipients.
Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award
This award is the highest honor for SUNYIT alumni and has only been previously awarded five times. It is presented when appropriate.
Distinguished Service Award
Distinguished Service Award is given to recognize extraordinary service to profession, community, and/or alma mater.
Honorary Alumnus Award
The Honorary Alumnus Award grants honorary status to a non-alumnus of SUNYIT who has made outstanding contributions to the Alumni Association and its members. It is awarded when appropriate.
Alumni Humanitarian Award
The Alumni Humanitarian Award honors alumni whose humanitarian involvement clearly sets them apart. It is awarded when appropriate.
Outstanding Young Alumni Award
This award honors the talents and personal and professional growth of an alumnus/a who has graduated in the past two to ten years and is 40 years of age or under. The Young Alumni Award is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions and has reached a high level of professional achievement. This individual demonstrates leadership ability and community involvement, shows promise for continued success, and sets an inspirational example for future young alumni.
Alumni Association Faculty Award
Awarded at the discretion of the board when appropriate, this honor was established in 2006 to recognize SUNYIT faculty members who have made major contributions to the Alumni Association or a significant difference in the lives of SUNYIT graduates.
To nominate an individual for one of these awards, please complete the Nomination Form (you may nominate yourself). Upon receipt of your nomination, we will notify nominees and invite them to support their nominations and you will be notified of the committee's decision.
