How can I obtain an application for graduate admission? Graduate application and applicable forms

What materials must be submitted to properly file a graduate application? Required admissions documents vary by program. Please go to Admissions Requirements to view a list of required documents by program.
Am I required to take a GRE or GMAT exam? The GRE exam is required for application to the following programs:
- Advanced Technology
- Computer Science
- Telecommunications

The GMAT exam is required for application to the following programs:
- MBA Technology Management
- MBA Health Services Management
- MS Accountancy
- MS Health Services Administration

What does it cost to apply? There is a non-refundable $50 application fee. Payment can be made by sending a check payable to SUNYIT with the application. To pay the fee via credit card, please contact the Graduate Center at (315) 792-7347 Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30 p.m.
Is there an application deadline? We strongly suggest that you apply by the following dates:
- June 1 for fall admission
- December 1 for spring admission
These are suggested deadline dates which will allow for the timely processing of financial aid and course registration. Completed applications will be reviewed on a rolling, space available basis, until classes begin.
When will I know if I’m accepted for admission? For a fall start, notification of admission begins on December 1 and continues on a rolling basis. For a spring start, notification begins on September 15 and continues on a rolling basis.
What documents are required for international applicants? Please visit the international admissions web pages for information on international admission.
Can I apply for GOP (Graduate Opportunity Program) admissions? SUNYIT offers the GOP program to a limited number of incoming graduate students. Applicants must meet academic, as well as financial criteria, and must have been enrolled in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) as an undergraduate student. For more information, please contact the SUNYIT Special Programs office at (315) 792-7805.
Is there a tuition deposit? Graduate students are not required to submit a monetary deposit, but should return the completed “Enrollment Confirmation Card” to secure a place in the incoming class.
How do I register for classes? All new graduate students are invited to attend a brief orientation/registration program prior to the start of their first semester at SUNYIT. New students will receive notification of the orientation programs with their acceptance packet or soon after. The program includes faculty advisement and registration, as well as the chance to obtain an ID card, parking sticker and other essentials. Students who are unable to attend an orientation session must contact their academic department to make alternative arrangements for course registration.
Can I complete a course before I formally apply for admission? For all programs with the exception of programs offered by the School of Business: With permission of the program coordinator, a student can complete up to 12 credits as a non-matriculated student before they are required to be admitted into a degree program.
For all programs offered by the School of Business: Programs offered through the School of Business have a “Quick Start” option available allowing students to take up to 6 credits as a non-matriculated student before they are required to be admitted into a degree program. Only students with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or better are eligible for the Quick Start option.
