Graduate




Assistantships, Fellowships, Scholarships
If you are interested in being considered for one of our assistantships or fellowships, please complete the assistantship form within the application; you must be a full-time student to be considered. Please apply early,as assistantships, fellowships, and scholarships are limited and competitive.

Assistantships

  • Graduate assistants generally receive a $5,100 tuition scholarship and $2,400 stipend, ($7,500/year).
  • Assistants are assigned teaching, research or other administrative duties.
  • Graduate assistants must register for a minimum of nine credit hours. Each department selects their graduate assistants.

Graduate Diversity Fellowship Program
SUNYIT receives funding for a limited number of Graduate Diversity Fellowships each year. To be eligible for consideration, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status, and demonstrate how they will contribute to the diversity of the student body in the program which they are applying, including by having overcome a disadvantage or other impediment to success in higher education.

  • Graduate fellows receive a tuition scholarship and stipend for a total award of $10,000/year ($5,000/semester).
  • Graduate fellows must be enrolled full-time in order to be considered.

Residential Scholarships If you are a graduate student, attending full-time, and plan to live in one of the residence halls, you are eligible to be considered for a Residential Scholarship. The Residential Scholarship is $3,500/year (one year non-renewable) and assists in defraying the cost of your dormitory expenses. The scholarship is one year, non-renewable.
